FAQ

Who’s participating?

We’re just getting started with recruiting breweries for People Power Beer 2020. In 2018, we had over 85 participants from 32 states. This year, we hope to shatter those numbers and sign up breweries from all 50 states.

Breweries should complete this form to be included in our list of participants, which will be published to the site soon and updated regularly.

Does every brewery have to make the same beer? Is there a recommended recipe?

You can brew whatever style of beer you want, we only ask that you name it People Power. People Power Beer is about celebrating endless forms of expression, made by and for the people.

Do you have to make the same label?
Nope. We welcome creativity and diversity of People Power beer labels as we do beer styles.

Is there a People Power Beer logo?

Yes, you can download a high-res version here. You may use it in People Power Beer promotional materials, online and offline, though it’s not required.

When do I have to release this beer?

It’s up to you, though we’re encouraging breweries to target their release dates on or between the symbolic bookends of Independence Day (July 4th) and Election Day (November 3rd).

Is there a People Power Beer hashtag or social media handle?

Yes! Please tag @peoplepowerbeer and or use #peoplepowerbeer as the campaign hashtag across social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook).

What percentage of proceeds do we need to donate and to whom?

10% proceeds should be donated to the ACLU. They will require a signed agreement from each brewery that we are in the process of procuring.

Can we donate to another organization?

Every brewery who takes the People Power Beer pledge is required to donate 10% of proceeds to the ACLU. Any donation you make above and beyond that- to the ACLU or other organization- is totally your call.

We’ve brewed the beer. Where do I submit the details to be featured on the People Power Beer website and social handles?

We will be adding a form to this site so you can upload an image and share anything else you would like to about the beer with us directly. Check back for updates.

How else can I get involved?

We’ll be adding announcements and resources from the ACLU to this website in the upcoming weeks.
